In this area it is also possible to eat a big number of excellent
foods, so the choise could be very
difficult.
Here we mention only some typical products that are the most
appreciated:
The White Truffle of Acqualagna and the Black of the summer, the
honey artigianally made in Abbadia di Naro, the famous Casciotta
cheese of Urbino, the special bread of Chiaserna, the amusing
taste of Visciolata wine of Pergola, the trout of Catria and the
typical Polenta of Piobbico. During all the year guests can see
typical shows, from fairs of local typical products to historical
commemorations.
The most important are:
“Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco Pregiato” - the National Fair
of White Truffle of Acqualagna - every year from the last week-end
of October to the middle of November;
“La piazza del gusto”, in the hystorical center of Cantiano a fair
of typical food of our area, the second week-end of May;
“Mostra mercato del Fungo” - the Fair of Mushroom – in Piobbico
the second and the third week-end of October;
“Distinti Salumi”, exibition of “Norcino” handicrafts in Cagli in
the end of April.
For whom prefers historical commemorations we can suggest:
“La Turba”, rappresentation
of the passion of Christ, in Cantiano during the Good Friday;
“Il Palio dell'Oca” commemoration of Renaissance inspired costumed
Games competition, in Cagli during the second Sunday of August .
